Query the list of CITY names from STATION which have vowels (i.e., a, e, i, o, and u) as both their first and last characters. Your result cannot contain duplicates.

Input Format

The STATION table is described as follows:

where LAT_N is the northern latitude and LONG_W is the western longitude.

코드가 너무 비효율적인 것 같아 다른 풀이를 확인해보았다.

혁신적인 코드 발견, SQL에서도 정규식이 활용 가능하다니...!

SELECT DISTINCT city
FROM station
WHERE city REGEXP '[aeiou]$' and city REGEXP '^[aeiou]' -- ^은 시작, $끝 []은 or을 의미함

 

아래 링크에서 MYSQL의 정규식 활용 방법을 간단하게 살펴볼 수 있다.
이전에 인턴 활동을 하면서 LIKE 절로 수없이 키워드를 묶었던 기억이난다. 이걸 간단하게 정규식으로 만들 수 있었을 텐데..
